The future is bright for the Marlins. Currently they are playing very good baseball as they battle their way into contention for the Wild Card and the NL East. It wasn't supposed to be this way this season for Rick Van den Hurk, but right now he'll take it. And so will we. Today the Marlins sent Rick Vandenhurk back to AA Carolina and called up Burke Badenhop from the same minor league team.Vandenhurk really has struggled since winning a spot in the rotation out of Spring Training, being weighed down with an ERA over 11. Ricky Nolasco was placed on the DL with a sore right elbow. One of the key concerns was Nolasco was not getting the velocity he had last season on his pitches. Seems like it is over too quickly for the Marlins this season.Suffering injuries to 3/5ths of their stellar starting staff from last season hasn't been kind either.
