Scheduled for Opening Day 2012, the groundbreaking for the Florida Marlins new stadium was Saturday, July 18th from 10-12pm on the site of the old Orange Bowl. About 5,000 fans showed up for the ceremony, which rolled out the original Marlins battery of Charlie Hough and Benito Santiago, who threw the first pitch on the new site.
