MarlinAddict replied to the forum topic Marlins Deal Gaby Sanchez, Edward Mujica for Zachary Cox and Gorkys Hernandez in the group
Fish Tank 9 months, 3 weeks agoI respectfully disagree about Ozzie. There is a reason he is the least respected manager in MLB – he is a fool and can’t lead. St Claire is still chalking up pitchers having the worst seasons of their careers. […]

Fish Tank 9 months, 3 weeks agoThis may be the best trade of the lot. But, we still are not addressing the problems with the jokes that are the manager and coaching staff. There is no reason to be surprised we are in this situation. It was expected.

Fish Farm 9 months, 3 weeks agoHe’s not putting up anywhere close to the numbers a 3b should put up, even when he’s “hitting well.” His defense is reportedly average. In short, Mike Lowell while in his annual August slump, but without the […]

Fish Tank 10 months agoPerhaps rather than moving down nearly 50% of our position players, we should move a minor league coach up and put an end to nobody on the team having a damned clue at the plate.

MarlinAddict commented on the blog post Cody Ross Waived; Cameron Maybin Era Begins 2 years, 9 months ago
Maybin is still a couple years away from being serviceable, so the Maybin era won’t being until then. His defense isn’t comparable, and offensively has shown no signs of being MLB ready. On occasion, though, his speed will still prove beneficial. The Marlins did blow it by not trading Ross to any of the reported [...]

The Watch Party: 2 years, 9 months agoThere is an ongoing issue with the Marlins scorer regarding the June 27 game in which the official box score has the Marlins with only 26 outs while losing a 9-inning game. That is not the only issue we’ve had with a scorer this year. With stats being such an integral part of the game, [...]

The Watch Party: 2 years, 9 months agoBaseball-Reference rejected MLBs response about the box score, asking for a ruling if it is complete box score since the Marlins lost a 9-inning game, yet only 26 outs have been recorded, and the box does not reconcile. They are still holding it as an open issue. This is even better than the game in [...]

The Watch Party: 2 years, 9 months agoBaseball-Reference is in agreement, but it gets a feed from MLB, and as part of the contract, is bound to mimic verbatim MLB’s stats. MLB has to make the change first, but the final box score is more than 24-hours old, and thus “official” by the rules. That is, unless it affects Greg Maddux’s ERA, [...]

The Watch Party: 2 years, 9 months agoThis is a copy of an e-mail (3,000 character limit) I sent to the Marlins today, and for which a similar e-mail sent to Baseball-Reference.com, noting an error in the stats: I keep my own set of stats for the purposes of measuring the effectiveness for players moving men on base. I periodically reconcile them [...]

The Watch Party: 2 years, 9 months agoGaby and Uggla – Dumb and Dumber. Edwin needs to sit both of them for the incredibly stupid approach at the plate in the 9th. That was inexcusable. Not even a special Olympics girls softball player could have done worse. Benched, and the Kangaroo Court should heavily fine each of them for not having the [...]

The Watch Party: 2 years, 9 months agoRolen looks like Hitler from the CF camera

Well, he is a work in progress, but tonight he is looking pretty good. He did make that mistake in CF which cost us a run, but realistically, his defense is pretty good. It is his offense we are looking at and he had a great RBI single with 2 outs on the first pitch. Looked very comfortable.
