Good test for the Fish tonight. Good showing against the Dodgers taking two of three, now will go on to Cincinnati to take on a strong offense.
Bonifacio leads off with a triple and Infante hits a sac fly to score him. Then Hanley hits a double into the right field corner. Nice start.
John Buck hits a three run bomb opposite field bomb! 4-0 Marlins! Great start.
Scott Cousins gets a nice at bat, draws a walk. Travis Wood now has over 35 pitches in the inning.
Vazquez ropes an RBI single through the middle of the infield and it scores uncle Wes. 5-0 runners at the corners.
Jay Bruce hits an outside pitch over the right center wall. 5-1 Marlins. Vazquez made the leadoff hitter sit quick though.
Stanton whiffs with two outs and Gaby on first. Approaching bottom of the second.
In the fourth, Vazquez gets his second hit of the night and Bonifacio gets a double in the right field corner.
Runners on second and third with one out. Infante flies out to left field where Hermida catches and throws home keeping Vazquez frozen on third. Still got the good arm.
Changing pitcher: Carlos Fisher.
Hanley drills one right through the infield, off of Phillips, to score two more runs. But then gets thrown out trying to steal second.
Jeremy Hermida’s first hit of the season is a three run jack on his former team. Bleck.
Scott Cousins just fielded a ground ball in center and made a quick throw to toss out Joey Votto at second. This guy really has been touted as one of the Marlins best defensive players in their system. Now we can see why. Co Joan doesn’t make that throw.
Mujica comes in to relieve Vazquez.
Dunn closes out eight and now Nunez is on for the ninth.
