Maybin and Sanchez Debut; Cantu Magic Number 2
Cameron Maybin and Gaby Sanchez have both been called up to the big leagues and are in a pretty good situation to be making their debuts. For Maybin, it has been a rocky season of sorts - traded from the Tigers and with a chance to break spring training as a Marlin was sent to the minors for more seasoning. He was also bit by a spider, which greatly impeded his progress in the minors. Maybin also … [Read more...]

Atta boy Cody!
Way to show some heart out there. I'm glad to see the boys backing up their teammate, Pelfrey is just an overhyped punk with something to prove. We whooped their butts eleven months ago at Shea and knocked them out of the playoffs, we'll do it again this year. One more thing, I loved THutt talking smack up there in the booth, especially when he jumped all over Oliver Perez and Pedro … [Read more...]
Yes, Kevin Gregg Should Not Close Ever Again
Well, we couldn't be knee deep in hurricane season without talking about disaster relief. He in south Florida, if you are going to talk about the subject, you might not hear anyone refer to hurricane Gustav but rather hurricane Gregg. You are dead to me. Seriously, Fredi, he needs to be demoted from the closer job. Enough is enough. That Beltran grand slam was the final nail in the coffin for our season. Hopefully, Beinfest will have the good sense to trade him in the offseason. … [Read more...]
Streak BROKEN
Now thats how you start a road trip. Last night, Ricky Nolasco pitched a complete game shutout, the first for a Marlin starter in 301 attempts, a Major League record. Ricky only gave up two hits (should have been just one, but who cares) and struck out 10 batters on a chilly August night in San Francisco. Ricky had all of his pitches working for him last night, leaving the Giants batters … [Read more...]
Tonight vs. Chicago: A MUST WIN
The Marlins are dangerously close to falling out of contention. We are now 3.5 back, and if the Mets win tonight and we lose we are looking at a 4.5 game deficit and only two games over .500. This is the biggest game of the season, and probably the most important start of Annibal Sanchez's young career. This is when the true contenders step up. So, if you don't have any plans for tonight, … [Read more...]
