With the recent acquisition of Martin Prado from the Yankees, many are reporting that the Marlins are not done dealing but instead are lining up a deal with the San Francisco Giants.

There is nothing substantial yet but reports seem to suggest the Marlins are looking to make a deal for minor league prospects – probably pitching prospects to get back some of the assets they have lost.
The Giants are in need of a replacement for Pablo “Panda” Sandoval, who left for greener monsters in Boston. Adding “Hits” McGehee would give the defending champions a serviceable hitter who was the NL Comeback Player of the Year adding 177 Hs and 76 RBIs behind power bat Giancarlo Stanton.
Many on Twitter are debating whether or not this is a smart deal for the Marlins as McGehee is a clubhouse favorite and a fan favorite. Yet, the Marlins are in fact faced with a future that is thin on young pitching – this has proven to be the lifeblood of the franchise. Stay tuned.
