If you look at his Twitter page, you’ll notice a bit of a throwback image for his background. Instead of the usual headshot or action shot, Garrett Jones instead has an image of the Ultimate Warrior. As it turns out, Jones is a huge fan.
James Hellwig – the Ultimate Warrior – died on Tuesday at the age of 54. Jones asked the Marlins to play his entrance theme in honor of his hero. In fact, he will be having it played for the rest of the season at Marlins’ home games.
The Ultimate Warrior was an icon. Many from the WWE (formerly WWF) and WCW communities reached out after his death to pay their respects. He was known for his energy and his ferocity in the ring as well as an epic showdown with Hulk Hogan that really propelled more interest in pro-wrestling during its hey day of the late 80’s and early 90’s.
