All Star Giancarlo Stanton Out With Knee Injury

So the National League won the All Star game in Kansas City 8-0, defeating the heavily favored American League lineup for the right to host the World Series this year. If you are a Marlins fan, you may not have paid much attention.

The Marlins’ lone representative, Giancarlo Stanton, underwent arthroscopic surgery. According to Reuters:

Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton has undergone surgery on his right knee and could miss up to six weeks of play after the Major League Baseball season resumes following the All Star break.

The injury came against the Cardinals last week as he flew back to Miami from St. Louis on Saturday and was on the operating table by Sunday. His timetable is expected to be anywhere from 4-6 weeks and he was replaced by Nationals star rookie, Bryce Harper in the All Star game.
