Appartently Josh Johnson has been dealing with a sore shoulder all season long. He reportedly has been able to get it loosened up enough during warmups to get into the games. Yet, is this a sign of trouble for the Marlins ace?
An MRI revealed inflammation in the back of the shoulder. As of right now, the Marlins don’t think the injury to be serious and will diagnose further after Johnson gets some rest. There is some good news though – Ozzie Martinez was optioned in favor of reliever Clay Hensley, who is returning from injury to log some innings in the backend of the pen.
Also, catcher John Baker is still working his way back. Recent reports are that he has had a bit of a setback and his timetable for return is being changed. He originally went on the DL a year ago with a strained right forearm but ended up undergoing Tommy John surgery and working his way through rehab from Jupiter to Jacksonville and now in New Orleans.
