All reports are positive as the Marlins are being very cautious with their prized #2 overall pick, Tyler Kolek.
Joe Frisaro updates that things are progressing. Kolek remains on no-throw status for about the next week. He is doing light core work and bike exercises. An x-ray will be done to reevaluate his situation, but signs point to everything being precautionary.
The Texas native, out of high school, is touted as being one of those prototypical Texas fireballers in the tradition of a Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens, or even Josh Beckett. He has been clocked as high as 102 MPH with his fastball and has some other pitchers in his arsenal to match hitters with.
Currently Kolek is 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA in 10IP with 10Ks and 7BBs.
