His back is baaaaackk! Josh Willingham, who has been out for about two months, has been recalled from his rehab stint. He is available to play and seems to be healthy and ready to go. Willingham hit just .231 in his rehab stint in Jupiter, but it was just to get his timing back.
In the meantime, Mike Rabelo, who blundered badly by failing to tag a runner in a loss to Oakland, was sent to AAA Albuquerque. Paul Hoover was recalled in his place. It was mostly Rabelo’s sloppy defense play of late that had costed him his roster spot – that and he was just not hitting much either.
Josh Johnson, meanwhile, continues to work on his comeback from Tommy John surgery. He is scheduled to throw 95 pitches today and is expected to make 4 more starts before the Marlins activate him.
